GMB Planners and Engineers, Inc. (GMB) was awarded the Continuing Professional Planning Services Contract from the City of Daytona Beach, Florida. The project task responsibilities included:
- Data Collection, Analysis, Preparation and Presentation of the Evaluation and Appraisal Report (EAR) Based Comprehensive Plan Amendment Draft
- Submittal of EAR Based Comprehensive Plan Amendment – Traffic/Transit Elements
- Area-Wide Traffic Study
- Presentation and evaluation of seven Build-Out alternatives for US Routes 1 and 92
- Data collection, demand forecasting, and alternatives analysis for the Beach Street Area
- Traffic Signal Design for the intersection of Main Street and Wild Olive Avenue
- Fully Actuated Traffic Signal Design with Pedestrian Signals for Beach Street and Live Oak Avenue
- Developed a Proportionate Fair-Share Ordinance to satisfy concurrency requirements and mitigation responsibility for participation in a Transportation Improvement Plan
Additionally, GMB provided services on an Area-Wide study in the “Old Daytona” community, which included the following key aspects:
- Corridor analysis and recommendations
- Existing and future traffic volume development and operational assessment
- Alternative roadway analysis and recommendations
- Data collection and roadway characteristics inventory
- Innovative solutions: roadway alignments, access management, signal timing & roundabouts
- Cost development
- Florida Standard Urban Transportation Model Structure (FSUTMS) sub-area model validation
- Coordination within the City between multiple divisions
